Welcome to oSTEM @ Stanford!
The Stanford Chapter of Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (oSTEM) is part of the national student society dedicated to serving queer students and their allies in STEM, with a primary goal of fostering success in academic pursuits, community-building, and professional activity. The mission of oSTEM@Stanford is to educate and cultivate leadership among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and other queer-identifying (LGBTQ+) and allied students in STEM fields by enriching their professional background, providing them with unique STEM experiences, affirming their identities, and addressing their individual needs.
Join our mailing list for regular updates on oSTEM activities and programs.
Looking for social activities to meet the broader, queer-aligned Stanford STEM community? Connect with fellow members through our casual coffee chats, mixers, and movie nights. For those interested in exploring the intersection of queer identity and STEM, our Queer Perspectives Speaker Series brings in academics and industry professionals to share their research, experiences, and insights. And if you're looking for one-on-one support, consider joining our Mentorship Program, which pairs students with experienced mentors who can provide guidance on academic and career goals. We feature many other types of less regular activities as well, so make sure to sign up for the mailing list to keep up to date! For a more thorough list of programming, please see the Events section of our website.
